Oh yes, it is quite decadent, but the joy of Christmas requires some leniency (especially if the New Year’s resolutions are approaching quickly). It’s also a breeze. Lightly melt heavy cream and chocolate – milk or dark, according to choice – and place in a serving bowl. Serve with a selection of soft treats such as fresh strawberries, cubes of angel food or cake, giant marshmallows, dried apricots, pineapple slices or figs. Christmas sweets also make delicious dips – try gingerbread, sugar cookies or spicy molasses biscuits to add a touch of holiday to your fondue.
